Details of Service:

Pte Seale was transferred to 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles on 01 December 1916. He was slightly wounded during the attack on Vimy Ridge, however, was not evacuated and remained with 5 CMR.

Pte Theodore Seale was killed in action during the battle of Passchendaele on 30/31 October 1917. 5 CMR suffered heavy losses during the 30 and 31 October. Pte Seale's platoon under the command of Lt Allen Otty was tasked by Major Pearkes to attack German positions at Source Farm. Though not originally a Canadian objective, German machine guns at Source Farm were inflicting heavy casualities on 5 CMR.

The platoon took Source Farm but suffered heavy losses. By the morning of 31 October only four members of the platoon were remaining. According to platoon members, Pte Seale was hit by shrapnel however still advanced. He was hit by another shell and fell on 30 Octoer. However, he remained alive throughout the night and yelled encouragement to his platoon. He was later found dead on 31 October 1917.
